What’s on

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking two year 9 pupils Emma Wells and Joe Foster to an English event at Leeds Playhouse. There were pupils from schools all over the north of England. Both pupils were very polite, well mannered and extremely well behaved. They were both a credit to the school.
Mr I Punton,
I would just like to thank everyone involved in the open night we attended last night. Pupils were polite and helpful as were the staff! Our girls currently attend year 6 and 5 at Bill Quay Primary now cannot wait to get stuck in at Heworth Grange! Thanks again and see you all in the future(hopefully)
Julie Conroy, Parent
Teachers are very committed and provide extensive out-of-school support for those in danger of failing, those working below target and for anyone, including the most able, who feels the need for additional guidance.
Gwen Coates, HMI Inspector, Ofsted
The school deserves its good reputation in the local community.
Ofsted, 2012 Inspection
We would like to thank the staff and students for all the hard work and effort you all put into the visit. We were impressed with every aspect of the school, the students were so confident, polite and very mature from the youngest to eldest.
Mrs Exley, Parent
Well done to yourself and all of your staff for the work you have done and particular congratulations to all of the students who have achieved their own success hopes.
Mr Napier, Heworth Grange, Head of Governors
I have been to feel so welcome at the school as I go about working with the young people and staff. All of the staff on the front desk/office have been brilliant and extremely helpful and are a credit to the school. I look forward to my visits to Heworth school.
Mr G Thompson, S.M.A.R.T.
As you know its difficult when your child makes the move from primary to comprehensive school but we feel happier after the visit.
Mrs Exley, Parent
Achievement in English is outstanding. There is a strong focus on reading, spelling and vocabulary. Each Key Stage 3 lesson in English starts with sustained silent reading and there is a word of the week.
